I first met Jamie and Elizabeth, who live in Sweden, outside of Oran Mor in the West End of Glasgow as I was waiting for a bride to arrive for her ceremony there! It was a total chance meeting where they were inquiring about their upcoming wedding, which was to be held at the lovely House For An Art Lover in Bellahouston. We pretty much hit it off straight away, had a very brief chat, and away they went with my contact details. Not long after that, I received an enquiry from them to capture their own big day, definitely a first for me! I was free for their date, we grabbed a Zoom call for a chat, and then they booked me for their July 2023 wedding!
We arranged their couple shoot for when they were in Scotland next (which I have with all my couples), and things couldn't have been better. Such an easygoing, down-to-earth, beautiful couple, and the shots we got were great (if I don't mind saying so myself!)
All we had to do now was wait for the big day! On the morning of the wedding, Elizabeth got ready with her sister at One Devonshire Gardens in the West End of Glasgow. It was a lovely, relaxed morning with just us three and the lovely Laura Gray of Hair Beauty Bridal. Word on the street was the night before they arrived, none other than the legendary Johnny Depp had stayed in the same room, so who knows what they'd find down the back of the sofa! It was a fun morning full of laughs and top chat!
After that, I was off to the wonderful House For An Art Lover for the main event, grabbing some shots of the guests arriving, the venue itself, and some of Jamie too! There were guests from all over the globe but many from where Jamie & Elizabeth live in Sweden. A cracking bunch of people too! When Elizabeth and her sister arrived at the venue after prep, they had forgotten something – the flowers! (All the sister's fault, by the way! She had 5 jobs! Haha!) Their reaction was priceless, no stress, just laughing their heads off and sending a taxi off to retrieve them from the hotel. My kind of bride, I mean, what would be the point of getting stressed over that and letting it spoil the ceremony? None at all! I'm truly blessed with the couples I've worked with over the years, and Jamie and Elizabeth were no exception, just the salt of the earth and a huge pleasure to be around.
As usual, at this point in a blog, I start to waffle, and I doubt many of you have even got this far! Just an amazing day full of amazing people; hopefully, the images can give you a small insight into just how amazing it was! Elizabeth & Jamie, you're truly blessed, and I wish you all the very best in your future together (now married) as a family with those gorgeous children of yours!
Thanks so much for being so nice to me right from our chance meeting outside Oran Mor all the way through to me saying my goodbyes as you were ready to dance the rest of your night away at House For An Art Lover!
Take good care
