Alright, buckle up, folks, because we're about to dive into one heck of a wedding tale! This shindig was more than just your average love fest – it was a reunion of wedding industry warriors. You see, Fiona, the radiant bride, was once a colleague of mine in the wild world of weddings. And let me tell you, when a fellow industry insider hires you to capture their big day, it's like strapping yourself into a roller coaster – thrilling, nerve-wracking, and absolutely exhilarating.
Now, Fiona and Darren, they were the kind of couple dreams are made of. Cool as cucumbers, genuine to the core, and basically handed me the keys to the creative kingdom. "Just do your thing," they said, and, more importantly, an unspoken plea to revel in the day as much as they were. No pressure, right? (Okay, maybe a little – but we'll get to that.) The curtain lifted at The Grosvenor Hotel in Glasgow's West End for the prep, and from there, we rocketed (best we can with no power steering! haha!) to the stellar venue that is Glasgow Engine Works in Maryhill.
But here's the kicker – Fiona's best mate, Maid of Honour extraordinaire, Humanist Celebrant and all-around leg end, Pauline Muir, took the reins for the ceremony. Oh, did I mention she's also my good mate of mine and also from the wedding industry trenches? Yeah, this day was cooking up something special. Now, let's talk vibes. The whole affair was a symphony of laid-back coolness and a celebration of the finer things in life – emphasis on amazing food (we're talking real proper as Darren is an amazing Chef), top-notch drinks, cocktails that could make your taste buds do the cha-cha, ice cream that's probably won awards, cakes galore, and the pièce de résistance – a congregation of fun-loving, down-to-earth family and friends having an absolute blast. I could sit here and ramble on, but I'm no wordsmith – I'm here to let the images spill the beans. So, feast your eyes on the visual feast that was Fiona and Darren's wedding day. Trust me; it was a roller coaster of love, laughter, and everything in between. Grab your seat-belt – you're in for a ride!
